An update and a poem...

I so hope you’re well. I write with a bit of news and a glimpse into what’s next for us here.

I’ve spent the past four years consumed by Substack and helping hundreds of thousands of people (literally) bring their work to others—and loving it.

This summer, I’ve been able to slow down a little and had some time to myself and…

I just emailed my new poetry collection to my agent (!). She’s excited. I’m excited. It’s felt so good to build little things with words, tinker incessantly with a comma (put it in, take it out), and make my heart burst (and hopefully the reader’s too) in just a few lines.

The book circles around four themes: grief, aging, living in a tech-obsessed world, and climate change from the perspective of an urban dweller with no relationship to nature. :)

Working title: Each in Our Own Little Terrible.

I write for people, not just people who read and write poetry, so even if you think you don’t like poetry, I’ve included this for you.

Thanks to conversations with my agent and my friends Susan Cain and Mary Hickman, I’ve started my next nonfiction book. This morning, I realized I’ve been writing it for years and have pages and pages in folders on my computer that I’d forgotten about.
