Reading without feeling is such a great yawn inducing bore.

Yes, I can speed read, yes I have an almost eidetic memory style, tho I lean towards have perfect recall of conversations I have taken notes on over things I have read while scanning.

I do understand the overwhelming need to pass certain academic goals.. Lordy Pete, I’ll never forget the Russian Lit class my sophomore year.. All of the greats.. all in one semester… I barely slept, ultimately went for cliff notes back in the day. (With no regrets at that time)

My overall thought about Claude, AI, speed reading and moving thru life at an accelerated pace is why bother. 💞

I liked this writing and it made me remember my youth, but even today, when I am 80 years old, I like to read slowly and often underline in books those things that I experience myself but find the right formulation and can remember even a phrase from decades ago, which has elevated my soul and vocabulary. I often return to a book and it is like returning to a mysterious world, which you have seen once, but you have not managed to explore it all...

When I was a teenager, I felt incapable of others reading quickly, but now I understand that people whose teachers have found themselves are passionate about the magnificent otherworld, they do not find easy paths in our ordinary world. Reading the works of my eternal teachers, I was able to feel the rhythm of words and the silent melody of sentences; to experience the magic of language.

Now I feel I have to reread Call of the Wild. It's been more than half a century. 😂

One other thing. This is my first time ever having to type a code prior to commenting on Substack. May have to look into setting that up--not that I have any trolls commenting on my Stack, altough I do seem to have a fair share of trolls.
