Less worry about world crises including climate, poverty, healthcare, hunger, refugees, and planet deterioration of oceans and forests. Passing the concerns on to other social activists.

ha ha I want to say less “anxiety” (personal and global)… working on it

Celebrating less writing time. Well for now. I’m currently querying my novel and taking a break from writing fiction. It feels good because it means I finished a big project (3.5 years!) and Im refilling the well to gear up for novel # 2 this Fall :)

Congratulations, Kailey! Such a big deal. I’m always on to the next thing and can attest that it’s a terrible idea.

One thing I learned publishing my memoir is that all of it is part of being a writer.

Writing, revising, editing, proofreading, sending out, getting an agent, selling the book, putting it in production, publicity, post publicity, and more…

That’s something to celebrate Sarah! I’m celebrating that I’ll have less angst over how to do Substack because of all I’ve learned from you. Truly. Thanks for your help.

That makes me so happy. Truly!

I'm celebrating my love for helping other authors write their books more than I love writing my own.

Expand full comment

I feel that way about Substack. But I think that it’s all gonna come around and teach me how to love my own writing even more.

Less expecting others to behave the way I want them to lol! Doesn’t change their behaviour and only makes me miserable.

I’m with you.

Less time on my laptop, more time enjoying Summer, like kayaking and helping wildlife in a nature center who cannot be released.

You’ve been inspired me.

Expand full comment

Thank you, Sarah. Grateful that I've inspired you. You inspire me, too.

Same for me on less people pleasing. Releasing control and loving it.

Expand full comment

It really is beautiful when we do that.

I’m spending less time on my phone. It feels like it’s time to cut the cord, so to speak.

Expand full comment

I love it. Cut the cord.

Expand full comment

That's lovely, Sarah! I think that doing less people pleasing might be a good resolution for me for next month. This month has been about celebrating less noise--cutting back on what I'm reading and following, spending more time off my phone and off the grid. It's been wonderful!

Expand full comment

We do it together! And report back.

Expand full comment

It’s a deal! :)

Expand full comment

Less worry, and less packing my days with tasks just for the sake of "feeling productive"

Expand full comment

Oh, I'm with you.

Expand full comment

Less figuring out how to make it happen and more letting it flow…

Expand full comment

The flow. So difficult. :)

Now that I know my Voice - I am celebrating stressing less about being the real me.

I hear you. That's wonderful.

After Aug 17, I'll celebrate less upcoming travel and fewer commitments. Meanwhile I'm celebrating less news coverage of an objectionable character.

Me too!!!

Doing less of anything that contributes to sowing more division, hate, and fear-driven frenzy on the internet (which basically comes down to Substack and Notes, since I’m off all other social media). I’m also clearing out folks from my feed who are feeding the frenzy.

I've built a beautiful silo and see no reason to leave until after November.

Expand full comment

Sounds like a fantastic plan!

Expand full comment

Less attention to what others need from me. So that I can listen to what I need from me.

Expand full comment

Less pressure on myself to be ‘doing’ and ‘thinking’

Expand full comment

Contorting myself to please other people

Expand full comment

With you on this!

I'm celebrating what I red on Substack by @nadiabolz-weber about grace. It allows me to take less responsibility for my life - all of it. That seems counter-intuitive. But she showed me how identification with manifesting things is arrogant / ego driven. So I carry less weight. It's grace that got me here. Whew!

Expand full comment

I love that. I’m going to look for that post.

Expand full comment

Sarah, it is a game changer. And , yet so easy to let it slip away.

Expand full comment

Less worry - let's say starting today. I've already managed to worry my way through most of July.

Expand full comment

Love it.

Expand full comment

Less time at my computer this month, which means less neck and back strain.

Expand full comment

With you! [stretches sore neck]

I'm celebrating have less of a need to be what the world wants/expects and being more of myself.
