I have a simple little gratitude game that I play w/ both kids & my adult clients. It’s interesting how most will struggle w/ finding things to be grateful for at first. By the end of the game it’s as easy as ABC.

It’s a silly little game where you start with the letter “A” and run through the alphabet naming anything that you’re grateful for or that you like. You can do this in your head or play with a partner taking turns sharing thoughts that pop into your head. “A” could be your Apple iPhone or Astronomy or the new Star Wars series Ahsoka. You might notice patterns or themes each time you play the game. “B” could be baseball or butter. I find myself name food items since they often come easiest to my mind. But for others the pattern could be completely different. You’d think it could become boring but it changes all the time.

Love this segment. I feel gratitude for being able to spontaneously feel gratitude when it is appropriate. Self-help, New Age gurus and academics leave it alone - you're as harmful and misleading as the mental health industry itself, just the other side of the same coin - imho.

Thank you for reading--love that: "when it's appropriate." I agree with the latter too. So much misinformation being spread around.
