I still have such a tub inside a big old cheap house. I make soup and bake sourdough bread a lot. I write and my husband records music (and has a “real” job). It’s a nice way to live.

Sarah, I felt warm as I read this excerpt from your book. So many layers here, so much nuance. What I connected with most was:

Living in a world pre-Internet and the joy and possibility of creating without the pressure of platforms,

Examining my relationship with food and how it has changed through the decades,

Appreciating the power of a moment, like a bath or a shared meal with someone I love.

Thank you for that gift today.

My copy sits at home across the country waiting for me as I do what I can here on the other side with family mental illness in both places. Looking forward to diving into it. Love what I’m learning from you…

I'm reading The Editor by by Sara B. Franklin. It's about Judith Jones who was an editor at Knopf and who puu books about cooking and food on the map. Maybe you know about it. If not, it's a fascinating read.

Oh sweet nostalgia. The sense of plenty that came much easier in the 90s. You write about that so well. I miss that decade.

And fasting gripped me for a while. The no longer freezing line gave me pause. Thanks, Sarah.

A beautiful post. I am in love with the details here! I had a man once who loved to cook and cook for me too. It is something I still don't have the hang of. Thank you for this.

I wasn't planning to make time to read this right now, but like I feel after reading all good writing—so glad I did. You made me feel, and think of my own clawfoot tub experiences. As a bathtub it was charming. As a shower it was less so—my brother called it the African field hospital shower after the curtains came down around his wife on one visit.

I heard about you, Sarah, and your book Pathological on the video talks with you on the webinar. I bought it immediately without knowing how valuable it would be for me. Thank you for your genuine story, your hard research work and your thoughtfulness. I found many answers in it, and it supported many of my findings and doubts when it comes to the reactions, feelings, and emotions of a young person.
